About the Hornby Trust Scholarship
The Hornby Trust offers up to ten (10) fully funded scholarships for applicants entering the MEd TESOL program at the University of Exeter in September 2026.
The scholarship targets teachers and education professionals with demonstrated experience and potential to contribute significantly to English language teaching and learning in their home countries.
Awards are given to candidates from low- and middle-income countries, based on academic excellence, professional experience, and ability to create impact in their communities.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
1. Reside in and work in a low- or middle-income country listed on the OECD DAC classification.
2. Have a minimum of three years of full-time TESOL teaching or a related professional role after completing their first degree.
3. Hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK Upper Second Class Honours (or higher), or a relevant postgraduate qualification.
4. First apply for admission to the MEd TESOL program at the University of Exeter.
Once your admission is received, you will be issued an Exeter student number.
This number is required to complete your Hornby Trust Scholarship application.
