Eastern Michigan University (EMU) is now accepting applications for its prestigious Presidential Scholarship for incoming first-year students in 2025.
Recipients of this award will have the opportunity to enhance their academic experience by participating in EMU’s Honors College, which offers additional opportunities for critical thinking, community engagement, and leadership development.
Benefits:
The Presidential Scholarship is EMU’s most significant financial award for incoming students, offering comprehensive coverage of tuition, room, and board over four years. This scholarship is valued at approximately $100,000 and is aimed at supporting academically outstanding students throughout their college journey. Recipients will be expected to actively participate in the Honors College, where they can engage in a vibrant academic community and benefit from tailored leadership and personal development programs.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for the Presidential Scholarship, applicants must be high school seniors or incoming freshmen for Fall 2025. Candidates must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and a composite ACT score of 25 or a combined SAT score of 1200 (Critical Reading + Math). However, students with a GPA of 3.85 or higher are exempt from the SAT/ACT requirements. Additionally, applicants must have completed their admission application to EMU and submitted all official transcripts and test scores by the scholarship deadline.
Application process:
Prospective students must complete several steps to apply for the Presidential Scholarship. This includes submitting the Presidential Scholarship Application Form, the Presidential Scholarship Essay Form, and attending an official campus visit. The campus visit, which can be completed virtually or in person, must be done within the 2024 calendar year. EMU offers special virtual sessions that count towards visit eligibility, providing an opportunity for applicants to interact with current scholars and learn more about the Honors College.
Application deadline: December 13, 2024.
