Popular Nigerian DJ and philanthropist, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, widely known as DJ Cuppy, has launched The Cuppy Fund at King’s College London to provide hardship support for African students facing financial difficulties.
Announcing the initiative, DJ Cuppy emphasized the importance of education in transforming lives while acknowledging the financial barriers that often hinder students, particularly Africans, from completing their studies.
“African students at King’s now have access to hardship support because no one should have to choose between education and financial struggle,” she stated. “Education transforms lives, but financial barriers hold too many back, especially my own people. This fund ensures students focus on learning, not just finances.”
DJ Cuppy, daughter of Nigerian billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, has long been an advocate for education and youth empowerment. She holds a master’s degree in African Studies from the University of Oxford and has used her platform to promote various philanthropic causes, including The Cuppy Foundation, which supports education, healthcare, and child protection initiatives in Africa.
The launch of The Cuppy Fund is another milestone in her ongoing efforts to give back to society, particularly by investing in the next generation of African leaders
