The Federal Government has officially declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays to commemorate Good Friday and Easter Monday.
This announcement was made on Tuesday by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
In a statement released by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Minister extended warm Easter greetings to Christians and all Nigerians. He urged citizens to reflect on the values of sacrifice and love demonstrated by Jesus Christ in his redemptive death for humanity.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo also called on Nigerians to take advantage of the holiday season to pray for national peace, unity, and stability. He reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to drive growth and sustainable development across the country.
Furthermore, the Minister encouraged citizens to show love, compassion, and generosity toward one another during the festive period.
He concluded by wishing all Christians a joyful Easter celebration and all Nigerians a peaceful and restful holiday.
