The 18th edition of eLearning Africa, the continent’s premier conference and exhibition on digital education, training, and skills development, is set to take place from May 7 – 9, 2025, at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
This year’s event, co-hosted by Tanzania’s Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, is expected to be one of the largest in the conference’s history.
Under the theme “Re-imagining Education and Human Capital Development for Africa’s Future Prosperity,” eLearning Africa 2025 will focus on leveraging Africa’s vast human and natural resources to drive sustainable development through education, skills training, and technological innovation. The event will bring together over 1,200 participants from more than 85 countries, including educators, policymakers, business leaders, and technologists, to discuss strategies for advancing digital education across the continent.
Tanzania’s Minister of Education, Science, and Technology, Hon. Prof. Adolf Mkenda, has emphasized the urgency of improving education systems across Africa. “Africa’s youth boom could be a time bomb in the making,” he stated, adding that “only education can defuse it.” With millions of young people entering the workforce each year, the need for quality education and digital skills training has never been more pressing.
eLearning Africa 2025 will feature over 70 sessions and workshops, along with an extensive exhibition area showcasing the latest educational technologies. Some of the key topics to be explored include:

Strategies to bridge the digital divide – Addressing challenges in digital accessibility and inclusion.

As Africa undergoes rapid digital transformation, the continent’s e-learning market is projected to grow from $3.41 billion in 2024 to $19.76 billion by 2034. This expansion is fueled by increasing internet penetration, rising demand for flexible education solutions, and growing investments in digital literacy programs. With over 500 million internet users across Africa, governments and institutions are turning to technology to enhance educational access and workforce readiness.
eLearning Africa 2025 will serve as a hub for dialogue, innovation, and collaboration, connecting key stakeholders to shape the future of digital learning and workforce development in Africa.
