Dr. Austin Luguterah, Head of the University of Ghana Sports Directorate, has expressed optimism about the future of sports and education in Ghana, emphasizing its potential to transform society.
Speaking at the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Right To Dream football academy, Dr. Luguterah praised the institution for its groundbreaking efforts in nurturing talent and empowering youth. The academy, renowned for producing international stars such as Mohammed Kudus (West Ham United), Ernest Nuamah (Olympique Lyon), and Ibrahim Osman (Feyenoord), was lauded as a model for sports development in Ghana.
“The future of sports and education in Ghana holds great potential for transformation provided the country leverages its abundant talent, resources, and youthful population,” Dr. Luguterah said. He added, “Modern sports has evolved beyond playing on pitches; it is now a powerful tool to influence society positively.”
Dr. Luguterah called on stakeholders to replicate the Right To Dream model to foster youth development and empower dreams across the nation.
The event was headlined by Alex Asiedu, CEO of Right To Dream Academy Ghana, who underscored the academy’s commitment to producing successful athletes both on and off the field.
With such initiatives, Ghana is poised to unlock the full potential of its youth through the integration of sports and education.
