Liberian students in Rwanda have received a significant boost as businessman and FC Fassell CEO, Cassell Anthony Kuoh, unveiled a five-year scholarship initiative worth $25,000. The announcement came during the fourth-anniversary celebration of the Liberian Students Association of Rwanda (LIBSAR) on March 28, 2025.
Serving as the keynote speaker at the event hosted by LIBSAR’s Nyanza Chapter, Kuoh introduced the scholarship program, pledging an annual allocation of $5,000 to support Liberian students in Rwanda over the next five years. Additionally, he provided an immediate $3,000 cash donation to address urgent financial needs within the student community.
Recognizing his unwavering support for Liberian students abroad, LIBSAR honored Kuoh with the prestigious “LIBSAR Hero Award.” This award acknowledges his generosity, commitment to education, and dedication to uplifting Liberian students facing financial hardships while pursuing their studies overseas.
In his address, Kuoh emphasized the transformative power of education and his commitment to helping students overcome challenges. “Education is the foundation of progress. This scholarship aims to support Liberian students striving for quality education despite financial obstacles,” he stated.
Beyond financial support, Kuoh also donated 20 pairs of boots, two sets of jerseys, and 20 footballs to the student association. He further extended tuition assistance of $325 to students in need.
His contributions come at a crucial time for many Liberian students in Rwanda, some of whom have faced financial struggles after being sent abroad by past political representatives. The scholarship program is expected to restore hope, strengthen aspirations, and encourage academic excellence within the community.
LIBSAR expressed profound gratitude for Kuoh’s generosity, describing his efforts as a source of inspiration and empowerment for Liberian students in Rwanda. His dedication to educational support continues to impact the lives of students striving for success in a foreign country.
