The Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) has concluded a salary adjustment agreement with the Namibia Public Workers Union and the Teachers Union of Namibia, covering eligible administrative and academic staff.
NUST spokesperson Cindy van Wyk announced on Wednesday that the salary increments will take effect retroactively from 1 January and will be reflected in the university’s December 2025 payroll.
Under the agreement, permanently employed administrative staff in job grades 7 to 11 — including those on full-time contracts of at least one year — will receive a 5% increase. Those in job grades 12 to 16 will receive a 6% raise.
Permanently employed academic staff, as well as full-time academic employees on one-year contracts or longer, will receive a 5% salary increase.
In addition, NUST’s 80% medical aid contribution will now extend to all employees on total cost-to-company packages, including full-time staff on contracts of one year or more.
