HelpMum Africa is inviting applications for the HelpMum CareCode Hackathon Second Edition, a major innovation challenge aimed at transforming maternal and infant healthcare in Nigeria. This initiative brings together tech innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs, and problem solvers to develop impactful solutions addressing critical healthcare challenges affecting mothers and newborns.Nigerian career opportunities
The hackathon focuses on areas such as maternal care, newborn health, nutrition, and other pressing healthcare needs. It is designed to encourage bold ideas and practical solutions that can create lasting impact and improve healthcare delivery across Nigeria.
The competition features a total prize pool of 10 million naira. The first place winner will receive 5 million naira, the second place winner will receive 3 million naira, and the third place winner will receive 2 million naira.
Eligibility is open to students, recent graduates, researchers, entrepreneurs, and members of the tech community with skills in software development and artificial intelligence. Applicants must be resident in Nigeria and must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years. Participation is open to all genders. Candidates can apply individually or as part of a team of up to three members.
Participants are expected to have a registered business and demonstrate a clear path to sustainability beyond the hackathon. Proposed solutions should include a minimum viable product and integrate HelpMum’s open source innovations. Final project demonstrations will take place in Lagos.
This hackathon presents an excellent opportunity for innovators to contribute to improving maternal and infant health outcomes while gaining recognition, funding, and support for their ideas.
