Celebrating Global Talent, One Story at a Time
At Prodigy Finance, we believe that access to quality education should never be determined by geography or financial constraints. Since 2007, we’ve empowered over 45,000 international postgraduate students from more than 150 countries, enabling them to pursue their academic dreams through our innovative no-collateral, no-cosigner loan model. This year, we took it a step further—awarding $39,000 in scholarships to 8 outstanding changemakers from Africa, India, and Latin America.
Meet Kingsley Osei Addo – Ghana 🇬🇭
2025 Prodigy Finance Scholarship Winner
Programme: MSc in Applied Gerontology, University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW)
Scholarship Category: African Student Scholarship
Kingsley Osei Addo, a dedicated healthcare professional and advocate for the wellbeing of the elderly, has been awarded the prestigious Prodigy Finance Scholarship to pursue a Master of Science in Applied Gerontology in the United States.
Hailing from Ghana, Kingsley has long been passionate about improving geriatric care and advancing age-friendly policies in sub-Saharan Africa. He has worked extensively on projects that support older adults, especially in underserved communities where healthcare access and social services are limited.
With the support of the Prodigy Finance Scholarship, Kingsley is set to deepen his knowledge of gerontology and health policy at the University of North Carolina Wilmington—one of the few institutions globally offering a comprehensive programme in Applied Gerontology. He aims to return to Ghana equipped to lead policy reforms, expand elderly care services, and contribute to building an inclusive society where ageing is dignified and supported.
He describes the scholarship as “a powerful catalyst for transforming how African societies support their ageing populations. This is more than an academic journey—it is a mission to create systems of care that honour the lives and contributions of our elders.”
Kingsley’s selection underscores his academic excellence and unwavering commitment to addressing the challenges of ageing populations in Africa.

I’m truly honored and grateful to be featured by Prodigy Finance and Africa EduTimes. Winning the Prodigy Finance and StudyNC scholarships means more than just funding my education—it’s a door opened to deeper knowledge, stronger networks, and greater purpose.
As a Ghanaian passionate about elderly care, this opportunity will allow me to gain the skills needed to bring real change back home. It’s not just about me—it’s about every older person in underserved communities who deserves dignity, respect, and quality care. This scholarship is an investment that will ripple through generations.
Thank you, Prodigy Finance, for believing in my dream. Together, we’re building a future where ageing in Africa is not a burden, but a blessing!
