The World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), an initiative of Qatar Foundation, has revealed the six finalists for the 2024-2025 WISE Prize for Education, a $1 million award aimed at addressing global education challenges.
The selected finalists emerged from a pool of 427 applicants, with projects addressing foundational literacies, artificial intelligence, and Arabic language education.
The finalists include AprendoEnCasa Connecta (Chile), Bonocle (Qatar), Darsel (USA), FastTrack+ (Nigeria), iqrali.jo (Jordan), and TUMO Path (Armenia). Each finalist presented solutions to enhance education access and quality worldwide, ranging from digital learning tools to AI-driven educational programs.
Dr. Stavros Yiannouka, CEO of WISE, said the selection was based on “evidence-based innovation and practical solutions that can significantly improve educational outcomes.” AprendoEnCasa, for instance, supports digital learning in Latin America, and FastTrack+ offers technology-enabled literacy solutions for refugee camps in Africa.
Finalists will receive a $125,000 conditional grant for further development over the next 12 months.
