The Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Technology Akure FUTA Professor Adenike Oladiji has admonished members of staff to keep collaborating harmoniously and working efficiently towards the growth and development of FUTA describing both academic and non academic staff as partners in progress.
The Vice Chancellor gave the charge during the new year special prayers and thanksgiving service held under the aegis of the FUTA Christian Community on Monday 5th January 2026 at the TI Francis Auditorium.
She said ” As we step into this year, let us renew our commitment to timekeeping, diligence, and exemplary leadership. Let us be intentional in our actions and faithful in our responsibilities. Each role we occupy, no matter how small it may seem, contributes to the overall success of this great institution”.
Professor Oladiji noted that ” Within the FUTA community, we are blessed to have men and women who consistently pray for the peace, progress, and welfare of our University. These prayers, combined with our collective efforts, have laid a strong foundation for growth and stability. We acknowledge that divine backing, and we remain grateful for it”.
The Vice Chancellor stated that “FUTA is progressing because everyone is working diligently in their respective corners. When we unite purpose with discipline and faith with hard work, progress becomes inevitable. I am confident that this year will be marked by greater productivity, increased impact, and remarkable achievements. May God continue to guide us, strengthen us, and crown our efforts with success”.
In his homily the Coordinator, FUTA Christian Community, Professor Olawale Olukunle said “As we stand at the threshold of a new season, we are called to fix our eyes on the Almighty. When we look to Him, He grants us wisdom. When we walk with Him, He increases our capacity. And when we carry His knowledge, we rise to fulfill our divine assignment”.
Speaking on the theme ‘ “Be fruitful and subdue the earth ” He pointed out that The measure of dominion we exercise in life is directly connected to the measure of God we carry within us. Where God’s presence is strong, order replaces chaos, light overcomes darkness, and progress becomes inevitable. When God is present in a place, it does not take long to know—because His presence leaves evidence”.
He admonished staff to pursue God more deeply in the new year, not just for blessings, but for transformation. According to him “the more of God we carry, the greater the impact we make. May He grant us His knowledge, strengthen our dominion, and lead us into a year of true greatness”.
The service was attended by members of the University management, staff and students of the University.
