About the Scholarship Program:
Ajesola Solarin Majekodunmi Foundation (ASMAF) is a Nigerian-registered non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to empowering bright yet underprivileged young women by providing scholarships for tertiary education in professional fields and fostering leadership and life skills development.
Founded by Prof. (Mrs.) Ajesola Majekodunmi, ASMAF addresses the critical need to increase female representation in professions such as Medicine, Law, Engineering, Architecture, and Accountancy. Prof. Majekodunmi, a trailblazer in her own right, was the first female medical student admitted to the University of Lagos in 1962. Driven by her belief in equitable opportunity, the foundation reflects her vision to transform lives through education, empower women to excel in professional careers, and cultivate ethical leadership for societal impact. By bridging financial gaps and equipping scholars with holistic skills, ASMAF ensures that talented young Nigerian women not only achieve academic success but also emerge as confident leaders poised to drive progress in their communities and beyond.
