Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo, has formally acknowledged the receipt of funds from the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for the 2024/2025 academic session.
In an official letter signed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bayode I. Popoola, the university confirmed the disbursement of ₦42,787,200 to cover institutional charges for 339 successful student applicants.
According to the university, the payment was received via its Central Bank account on August 28, 2025, at 16:56 hours. The Vice-Chancellor commended NELFUND for the intervention, describing it as a timely support mechanism that would ease the financial burden of students and their families.
> “We wish to commend the Management of NELFUND for this intervention while we look forward to further mutual cooperation,” Prof. Popoola stated.
The acknowledgement highlights the impact of NELFUND’s education financing programme, which continues to provide accessible loans and institutional support for Nigerian students pursuing higher education.
This development marks another milestone in the implementation of the education loan scheme, reinforcing efforts to make tertiary education more inclusive and affordable across the country.
