The Students’ Union Electoral Commission of the University of Ibadan (SUECUI) has announced that accreditation for the 2025 Students’ Union election will run from Monday, November 24 to Friday, November 28, 2025. The commission urged all students to complete the process to qualify to vote.
In a special notice, SUECUI directed students to check their official UI email accounts for an accreditation link. Each student must click the link and confirm acceptance to be accredited. Only accredited students will be permitted to vote.
The commission encouraged early compliance to avoid disqualification, emphasizing: “Get accredited and let your vote decide.”
To support the process, SUECUI has created a WhatsApp group where students can receive real-time updates and assistance. The announcement was signed by Ojuolape Festus Mayowa, Head of Publicity (SUEC’25), and Kilanko Timileyin Joshua, Head of Logistics (SUEC’25), who also provided their contact information for inquiries.
UI’s Students’ Union election—one of Nigeria’s most closely followed campus democratic exercises—enters its preparatory phase with accreditation serving as the first major step. Technical support will be available throughout the week to ensure no eligible student is left out.
