The Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, where he presented the Fund’s One-Year Progress Report.
The presentation took place at the Government House in Akure, in the presence of the Deputy Governor, Mr. Olayide Adelami, alongside other senior government officials and key stakeholders.
During the engagement, Sawyerr highlighted NELFUND’s major achievements over the past year, outlined ongoing initiatives, and discussed the impact of the Fund’s interventions on students and tertiary institutions in Ondo State. He reaffirmed NELFUND’s commitment to deepening collaboration with the Ondo State Government to ensure that more eligible students benefit from the education loan scheme.
The visit, according to NELFUND, formed part of its broader strategy to strengthen partnerships with state governments, promote transparency, and enhance access to higher education financing nationwide.
Accompanying the MD/CE on the visit were the Executive Director, Operations, Mr. Mustapha Iyal; Director of Servicom, Mr. Sola Fowobaje; Director of Strategic Communications, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi; Assistant Director, Facility and Fleet, Mr. Tolutayo Olajolo; Technical Assistant to the MD/CE, Mr. Nasir Ayitogo; Personal Assistant to the MD/CE, Mr. Yomi Gbadamosi; Senior Manager, Strategic Communications, Mr. Fola Ogunniya; and Personal Assistant to the Executive Director, Operations, Mr. Yaseed Mohammed.
The engagement underscores NELFUND’s continued focus on stakeholder engagement and collaboration with subnational governments to expand access to education financing across the country.
