A delegation from the Directorate of Physical Planning, Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), led by the Director, Engr. Oladeji Boyinbode, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Adenike Oladiji ON February 18,2026. The delegation comprised four senior staff of the Directorate, who were recently elected Chairmen of their respective professional bodies in Ondo State.
The chairmen include Architect Adetunji Bello, newly appointed Director of Works and Physical Planning, Federal University of Technology and Environmental Science, Iyin- Ekiti, Ekiti State (FUTES) and Chairman of Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) Ondo State; QS Akinlolu Fadiyimu, Chairman of Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) Ondo State; Engineer Razaq Ejibunu, Chairman of Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE) Ondo State; and Chief Tech. Officer, Builder Oladele Omonagbe, Chairman of Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) Ondo State.
In his remarks, Director, Directorate of Physical Planning, FUTA, Engr. Oladeji Boyinbode stated that the primary purpose of the visit was to showcase the quality of staff in the Directorate of Physical Planning. He noted that the four chairmen were highly experienced professionals, and respected in their fields.
Boyinbode , who won the award of Best Branch Engineer in Ondo State by the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) for the year 2023 and 2024, acknowledged that the Directorate of Physical Planning had received many recognitions during the Vice Chancellor’s tenure and stated that the Directorate was replete with staff who are doing exceptionally well in their various fields.
The Director expressed appreciation to the university management for the opportunity for staff to reach the peak of their profession, and thanked the Vice Chancellor for her role, encouragement, and timely support for progress at different levels of their career.
The Vice Chancellor, FUTA, Professor Adenike Oladiji, expressed her delight at the progress of staff in the Directorate of Physical Planning. She noted that the election of four staff as chairmen of their professional institutions showcased their expertise and professionalism. She commended the Directorate for quality service in project supervision, citing examples such as the design of Forestry and Wood Technology Camp building and car parks. She thanked the chairmen for their service and attributed their success to their diligence.
The Vice-Chancellor advised them to uphold the University’s good name and mentor younger staff while challenging other staff to emulate the Director’s achievement and ensure effective project supervision. Professor Oladiji also praised the Directorate for maintaining integrity while discharging their duties urging them to continue serving with excellence.
This visit provided a formal recognition of their achievements and an opportunity to showcase their leadership roles within and outside the University
