Facebook has partnered with Nigerian filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele for the London and Lagos premieres of her forthcoming movie, The Four: No One Fights Alone, in a collaboration aimed at promoting Nigerian storytelling and connecting audiences worldwide.
The partnership, announced on Thursday, October 29, 2026, will support the film’s world premiere in London and its homecoming premiere in Lagos, bringing together filmmakers, digital creators, celebrities and fans.
According to the announcement, Facebook will provide audiences with access to behind-the-scenes content, premiere highlights and updates from the events through the platform. The initiative is also expected to showcase how creators use social media to connect with audiences and share Nigerian culture beyond the country’s borders.
Oluwasola Obagbemi, Meta’s Head of Communications for Sub-Saharan Africa, said the collaboration reflected Facebook’s role in helping creators build communities, reach international audiences and earn from original content.
“Creators on Facebook can reach a global audience, build real connections with their fans and earn money from the original content they share,” Obagbemi said.
He added that the partnership would celebrate creators shaping culture and support those producing original and engaging content on the platform.
Akindele also welcomed the collaboration, saying it would help bring African stories to a wider international audience.
“African cinema has always had beautiful stories for the world to enjoy, and it’s exciting to have Facebook as a partner in bringing these stories to even more audiences globally,” she said.
The filmmaker encouraged fans to follow Meta Africa, Funke Akindele and Official Funke Akindele on Facebook for updates, exclusive content and coverage of the London and Lagos premieres.
The partnership comes ahead of the film’s scheduled cinema release on December 11, 2026.
The Four: No One Fights Alone is a drama exploring friendship, motherhood, resilience and loyalty. Set between the Odu community and the city, the story follows Esosa and three women as they fight to secure the future of a young man they love.
The film features Akindele alongside Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Ali Nuhu, Uzor Arukwe, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Antar Laniyan and Wunmi Toriola, among others.
Produced by Funke Akindele Network and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment, the movie is Akindele’s latest cinema project as she continues to take Nigerian stories to audiences at home and abroad.
