The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed ₦314,128,560 to support students of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, in Kano State, as part of the 2025/2026 academic session student loan programme.
The disbursement, made on February 9, 2026, will benefit 3,858 students of the institution, covering their tuition and other statutory charges.
According to information released on the disbursement, the funds are intended to ensure that thousands of students can continue their academic programmes without disruption due to financial constraints.
The student loan scheme, managed by Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), is part of the Federal Government’s initiative to expand access to higher education by providing financial support to eligible students across Nigerian tertiary institutions.
With the latest payment to the Kano-based university, thousands of beneficiaries are expected to have their school fees settled, reducing the financial burden on students and their families.
Education stakeholders say the continued disbursement of student loans will help improve retention in tertiary institutions and allow more students to focus on their studies without the pressure of tuition
payments.
