The University of Education and Entrepreneurship, Akamkpa, in Cross River State has received a total of ₦1,025,200.00 from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to support students for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The disbursement, which was made on January 30, 2026, is targeted at eight students of the institution. According to details of the intervention, the funds are intended to cover tuition and other statutory charges, helping beneficiaries to continue their academic programmes without financial disruption.
NELFUND, a federal government initiative, is designed to expand access to higher education by providing financial support to eligible Nigerian students. The scheme aims to reduce the burden of school fees and ensure that economic challenges do not hinder access to quality education.
The latest disbursement to the Akamkpa-based institution highlights ongoing efforts by the government to support students across tertiary institutions nationwide.
