Manchester City have officially announced the appointment of Enzo Maresca as the club’s new head coach following the departure of Pep Guardiola.
The Premier League champions confirmed that Maresca signed a contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until June 2029, ushering in a new era for the club after Guardiola’s successful reign.
The 45-year-old Italian tactician returns to Manchester City after previously serving as part of Guardiola’s coaching staff during the club’s historic treble-winning campaign.
Club officials believe Maresca’s tactical philosophy and possession-based style make him the ideal candidate to maintain continuity and sustain the club’s dominance in English and European football.
Beyond handling first-team affairs, Maresca is also expected to play a major role in the club’s recruitment and transfer strategy ahead of the 2026/2027 season.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on X, stating that all agreements had been completed and the deal was fully sealed.
Manchester City are expected to officially unveil Maresca and announce details of his coaching crew in the coming days.
