Unknown gunmen have abducted a sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, along with her twin sons in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Wednesday while the victim, identified as Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, was on her way to drop her children at school.
Sources said the attackers intercepted her vehicle around 7:30 a.m. and forcibly took her away alongside her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul.
Mrs. John-Paul is said to be the youngest of five children of Mrs. Olufunmilayo Aduke Adegoke Adelabu. Until her retirement last year, she worked with the Central Bank of Nigeria and later the First Bank Pension Custodian. She had recently relocated to Ibadan with her children while making plans to join her husband in the United States.
A media aide to the former minister, Femi Awogboro, confirmed the abduction, noting that the matter had been reported to the police.
As of press time, the Oyo State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement on the incident, and the whereabouts of the victims remain unknown.
