The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed ₦78.11 million to the University of Jos, Plateau State, under the 2025/2026 academic session student loan scheme.
According to the Fund, the disbursement, made on June 24, 2026, will cover 100 per cent of the statutory charges of 580 verified student beneficiaries at the institution.
NELFUND said the intervention is aimed at ensuring that eligible students continue their education without financial disruption.
The student loan scheme forms part of the Federal Government’s efforts to improve access to higher education by providing financial support for students in public tertiary institutions across the country.
Since the commencement of disbursements, NELFUND has continued to release tuition payments to institutions on behalf of verified applicants as part of the implementation of the Student Loan Programme under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Fund noted that the latest disbursement to the University of Jos underscores its commitment to easing the financial burden on students and expanding access to quality tertiary education in Nigeria
