The Federal Government has opened applications for its new consumer credit scheme designed to help Nigerians acquire laptops, smartphones, tablets and other digital devices through flexible payment plans.
The initiative, known as the Credit for Laptops, Internet, Connectivity and Knowledge Digital Devices (C.L.I.C.K.D.) Programme, is being implemented by the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.
The programme was unveiled in Abuja by the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, alongside the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CREDICORP, Mr Uzoma Nwagba.
According to the Federal Government, the scheme is aimed at expanding access to digital devices by allowing eligible Nigerians to pay in instalments instead of making full upfront payments. The programme will initially focus on locally assembled laptops as part of efforts to support local manufacturing.

Click on the “I’m Interested” button.
Complete the online application form by providing their state of residence, employment status, preferred device and other required information.
Indicate whether they belong to any recognised digital talent programme, including 3MTT, Andela Learning Community, Learn2Earn, ALX Africa, HNG Internship, AltSchool Africa or Genesys Tech Hub.
Select the reason for requesting the device, such as education, remote work, business, software development, content creation or freelancing.
Confirm the accuracy of the information provided, consent to data processing and submit the application.
Who can apply?
The Federal Government said the current pilot phase is limited to 1,000 laptops for fellows of the Three Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Programme.
According to CREDICORP, the first batch of beneficiaries has already begun receiving devices, starting with 77 recipients in Abuja, while distribution to qualified fellows in other states will continue in phases.
Although the application portal also lists participants from other digital training programmes, including ALX Africa, AltSchool Africa, HNG Internship and Andela Learning Community, CREDICORP has yet to officially confirm whether they will benefit during the pilot phase.
The corporation also stated that details of the loan structure, including interest rates, repayment period and any required down payment, will be announced later.
The C.L.I.C.K.D. initiative forms part of the Federal Government’s broader drive to expand digital inclusion, strengthen technology skills and improve access to affordable digital tools for learning, entrepreneurship and employment.
