The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced registration for candidates seeking admission into Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes in Colleges of Education and non-technological agricultural programmes in polytechnics nationwide.
The Board said eligible candidates can register at any Institutional Professional Registration Centre (IPRC) located in Colleges of Education or any JAMB Professional Registration Centre (PRC) across the country, provided they possess the required O’Level credits.
JAMB explained that the development follows the Federal Government’s decision to waive the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) requirement for admission into NCE and non-technological agricultural programmes.
According to the Board, a new admission process has been developed to ensure that only qualified candidates are admitted while maintaining the quality and standards of the programmes.
Under the new policy, applicants are only required to present their O’Level results at designated registration centres to complete the admission process, without sitting for the annual UTME.
JAMB also announced that candidates who sat the 2026 UTME but have decided to pursue NCE or non-technological agricultural programmes can convert their applications at any designated IPRC or JAMB PRC at no additional cost.
The Board urged eligible candidates to take advantage of the opportunity by visiting the designated registration centres to complete their registration.
According to JAMB, the policy is designed to expand access to teacher education and agricultural programmes while preserving and improving the quality of training offered by the institutions.
