The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed ₦15,028,000 to the College of Nursing Sciences, Gusau, Zamfara State, covering statutory charges for 146 students under the 2025/2026 academic session.
The payment was acknowledged in an official letter dated June 24, 2026, signed by the Provost of the College, Zayyanu M. Isah, and addressed to NELFUND.
According to the letter, the institution confirmed receiving the funds into its account and has begun processing fee reconciliations and refunds for eligible students.
> “We have received the beneficiary list and confirmed the payment. We are currently processing fee reconciliations and refunds for eligible students and will forward the necessary documentation to your office shortly,” the letter stated.
The Provost expressed appreciation to NELFUND for the intervention, describing it as significant support that would ease the financial burden on students.
The disbursement represents 100 per cent of the statutory charges for all 146 verified beneficiaries, ensuring they can continue their nursing education without financial disruption.
The intervention forms part of the Federal Government’s NELFUND Student Loan Scheme, introduced under the Renewed Hope Agenda to improve access to tertiary education by providing financial support for tuition and other approved institutional charges.
Since the launch of the student loan portal in May 2024, NELFUND has continued to expand its reach, disbursing billions of naira to eligible students and tertiary institutions across Nigeria to improve access to higher education.
