The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) Nigeria has been instrumental in delivering the just concluded 17th Annual National Conference, held at Baze University, Abuja, from 19 to 20 November 2024.
Under the dynamic guidance of Mrs. Angela Ajala, the LOC ensured the seamless execution of the conference, which attracted over 1,000 participants, including dignitaries, education stakeholders, and policymakers.
The event provided a vital platform for discussing the future of education in Nigeria and across the continent, offering meaningful insights and resolutions that will shape the trajectory of educational development in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Mrs. Angela Ajala, the LOC Chair, expressed deep appreciation for the LOC’s dedication, stating:

The conference, themed “Embracing Transformational Education: Pathways Amidst Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous (VUCA) Operating Environments and Circumstances,” was a resounding success thanks to the meticulous planning and execution by the LOC.
It served as a robust platform for discussions on key issues in education, ranging from curriculum innovation and teacher training to the need for greater access to digital tools for students across the region.
A key outcome of the conference was NAPPS’ call for increased representation on important education boards such as NABTEB, WAEC, and NECO, to ensure that the needs and interests of private schools are effectively considered in policy-making processes.
The resolutions underscored the association’s commitment to championing reforms that will enhance the quality of education in Nigeria and across Sub-Saharan Africa.
The conference also highlighted the urgency of embracing strategic reforms to bolster private education in Nigeria, as outlined in a communiqué signed by NAPPS’ National President, Hajia Samira Jibir, PhD, and National Secretary, Dr Kayode Adeyemi, FNAPPS.
These reforms, which focus on addressing fluctuating policies, resource limitations, and expanding access to quality education, are essential for empowering students to thrive in an uncertain world.
