The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a new update to its 2025 portal, mandating biometric authentication before candidates can upload their O’Level results. According to the board, each candidate must now provide their thumbprint as part of the process, marking a significant step toward enhancing the integrity of the admission system.
This new development means that all prospective undergraduates seeking admission through JAMB will no longer be able to upload their results remotely or by proxy. Instead, they will be required to visit any *JAMB*-approved Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre for the uploading of their Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) results.
The move is aimed at curbing identity fraud, impersonation, and other malpractices associated with the admission process. By linking biometric data to the uploading process, the board seeks to ensure that only genuine candidates are able to submit and verify their academic records on the central admission platform.
