The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has invited Mr. Alex Onyia, the Chief Executive Officer of Educare, to be part of its review panel for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a letter dated May 13, 2025, signed by Fabian Benjamin, the Board’s Public Communication Advisor, Mr. Onyia’s nomination was approved as part of JAMB’s commitment to ensuring transparency and public confidence in its examination processes. The panel is expected to assess the conduct and release of the 2025 UTME results, identify any challenges encountered, and recommend solutions to prevent future issues.
According to the letter, the review session is scheduled to hold on Thursday, May 15, 2025, and participation is at no cost to the Board.
Other members of the review panel include representatives from the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, Chief External Examiners, Computer Professionals of Nigeria, the Educational Assessment and Research Network, Vice Chancellors of Universities, Rectors of Polytechnics, Provosts of Colleges of Education, and selected JAMB staff.
The initiative follows public concerns over the recent UTME results, prompting the Board to evaluate its processes and reinforce integrity in its operations.
