The Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has urged educational institutions across the country to submit student data for the 2024/2025 academic session by November 22, 2024. This call is aimed at facilitating the smooth processing of student loan applications and ensuring a seamless transition into the new academic year.
In a statement sent to heads of institutions, NELFUND emphasized the importance of timely submission, noting that it would help in uploading student records for the new session, thus expediting the loan application process for students.
Additionally, the agency assured stakeholders that it is committed to clearing all outstanding loan applications from the 2023/2024 academic session by the same deadline. Institutions were encouraged to extend relevant deadlines to accommodate these applications, ensuring that students who applied for loans in the previous session are not penalized for late or unpaid institutional fees.
“NELFUND remains committed to managing the volume of daily loan applications while continually refining our processes to enhance efficiency and expedite handling times,” the statement read.
The agency thanked educational institutions for their cooperation in supporting student access to funding and reaffirmed its commitment to improving service delivery.
Heads of institutions were reminded to submit the required data using the provided template to avoid processing delays. Institutions are encouraged to comply to help students access the necessary financial support for their academic endeavors.
