Senator Abdul’aziz Musa Yar’adua, Chair of the Northern Senators Forum, has commended the NELFUND board and Managing Director, Mr Akintunde Sawyerr, for the effective delivery of the NELFUND Student Loan scheme.
In a letter of appreciation, Senator Yar’adua thanked all those involved in the prompt rollout of this initiative, which is set to provide vital financial support for young students across the northern region.
Senator Yar’adua underscored the scheme’s importance, noting the distinct challenges the region faces and the essential role of education in fostering stability, mitigating youth restiveness, and enhancing employment opportunities.
The #NelfundStudentLoan scheme, he highlighted, offers young people a valuable opportunity to access quality education without financial strain, helping them to build a brighter future.
The Northern Senators Forum is also encouraging state governments in the north to support the scheme by raising awareness and helping more students to access this resource.
The Forum expressed confidence that increased state involvement will drive the programme’s success and contribute to long-term development across the region.
