The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB) has denied allegations linking it to the alleged leakage of the recently concluded Oyo State Common Entrance Examination, insisting it played no role in the conduct or administration of the examination.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Board described claims made during a radio programme in Ibadan as false, misleading and defamatory, warning that it would pursue legal action against individuals or organisations responsible for spreading the allegations.

The Executive Chairman of OYOSUBEB, Dr Nureni Adeniran, said the Board was not involved in setting, producing, handling or administering the Common Entrance Examination.

> “For the avoidance of doubt, OYOSUBEB is not involved at any stage in the conduct, setting, production or handling of questions for the Common Entrance Examination. Any attempt to link the Board, its Executive Chairman or its officials to the alleged leakage is completely unfounded,” the statement read.

The Board maintained that its leadership has consistently upheld transparency, accountability and professionalism in the discharge of its responsibilities and would not allow unsubstantiated allegations to damage its reputation.

OYOSUBEB further clarified that all complaints or enquiries relating to the conduct, administration or results of the Common Entrance Examination should be directed to the Oyo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, which is responsible for managing the examination.

The Board also urged journalists and media organisations to verify information before publishing or broadcasting allegations against public institutions, stressing that inaccurate reports could undermine public confidence in the education system.

It warned that any continued dissemination of false or defamatory claims against its leadership would attract legal action.

Despite the controversy, OYOSUBEB reaffirmed its commitment to improving basic education in Oyo State, pledging to continue working with relevant stakeholders to promote quality, transparency and accountability across the sector.
