The Past O.L.A. Girls Association (POGA) has advanced digital learning at Our Lady of Apostles Secondary School, Yaba, Lagos, through the purchase and deployment of 20 interactive smart classroom boards in partnership with Wowbii Infrastructure.
The initiative, aimed at strengthening technology-driven education for girl-child learning, was formally unveiled on Friday during a handover ceremony held at the school.
The deployment featured live demonstrations of Wowbii’s Interactive Flat Panel Displays (IFPD), showcasing how the technology enhances collaborative learning, improves teaching delivery, and strengthens student engagement through interactive touchscreen systems.
Speaking at the event, Assistant Director of Education, Lagos Archdiocese, Father Vincent Bankole, stressed the importance of integrating modern tools into education to better prepare students for the future.
“Our mission is to educate and shape the minds of future generations. To achieve this, we need tools that will bring this vision to reality. Having these interactive boards takes us to another level of preparedness for the future,” he said.
He also encouraged sustained community support for education development.
“As we appreciate OLAOSA, we also appeal to others to contribute as they succeed in life. People supported them, and they should, in turn, support those coming behind,” he added.
In her remarks, Chairperson of the OLAOSA 1968/1969 sets, Margaret-Mary Obigho, said the initiative reflects a shared commitment to improving learning outcomes and preparing students for a digital future.
“These boards represent cutting-edge teaching tools for today’s educational environment,” she said.
“Having reviewed the manuals and literature, I truly appreciate Sister Agnes for recognising the urgency and necessity of these valuable teaching aids.
“Our prayer is that both students and teachers will maximise this wonderful opportunity.”
Also speaking, General Manager, Sales, Wowbii Interactive, Morakinyo Ipoola, who represented the Managing Director/CEO of Wowbii Infrastructure, said the deployment reflects the company’s commitment to advancing digital education across Africa.
“This event highlights Wowbii’s ongoing commitment to advancing technology-driven education. Our interactive boards have already been deployed in numerous institutions, including the Deeper Life Group of Schools and over 250 Smart Green Schools across Nigeria,” he said.
He added that the technology is designed to enhance classroom engagement, support modern teaching methods, and bridge the gap between traditional and digital learning systems.
According to the organisation, the initiative forms part of broader efforts to support schools in delivering quality, technology-enabled education and improving digital literacy among students.
Wowbii Infrastructure noted that its interactive boards have been deployed in over 250 smart schools across Nigeria, with more than 20,000 installations across Africa, supporting the development of future-ready classrooms across the continent.
Stakeholders at the event described the initiative as a timely intervention that will strengthen teaching and learning outcomes while preparing students for an increasingly digital world.
