Dr Adedeji Adeleke is a firm believer in quality education, a principle he upholds both in his personal and philanthropic endeavours. A passionate advocate for academic excellence, he has invested heavily in Nigeria’s education sector, not only by establishing Adeleke University but also by funding scholarships and infrastructural development in other institutions. His contributions reflect his deep conviction that education is the foundation for national progress and individual success.
1. Despite his son and youngest child, David Adeleke (Davido), achieving fame and success as a musician, Dr Adeleke insisted that he complete his Bachelor’s degree, which he obtained from Babcock University.
2. He owns the prestigious Adeleke University in Ede, Osun State, where he personally sponsors the education of countless underprivileged but academically gifted students. His generosity is widely recognised.
3. He was one of Babcock University’s biggest financial supporters at its inception, single-handedly funding and equipping the Veronica Adeleke School of Social Sciences, named in honour of his late wife.
4. In his early 30s, he founded Pacific Merchant Bank, making him one of Nigeria’s youngest bank owners at the time.
5. A key player in Nigeria’s power generation sector, he owns both the Papalanto Plant in Ogun State and the Omotoso Plant in Ondo State through his company, Pacific Holdings.
