Following a stakeholders’ engagement at the Edo State Government House earlier today, the Managing Director/CEO of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, alongside his delegation and the Edo State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Paddy Emmanuel Iyamu, graced the 23rd Matriculation Ceremony of Edo State Polytechnic, Usen, for the 2024/2025 academic session.
Their presence highlighted NELFUND’s dedication to ensuring students have access to financial assistance for their education.
During the event, Mr. Sawyerr engaged with the newly admitted students, educating them on NELFUND’s objectives, eligibility criteria, and how they can benefit from the fund.
Following the sensitisation session, the delegation proceeded to pay homage to His Royal Majesty, Oba Oluogbe II, the Olu-Awure of Usen. The visit aimed to seek the monarch’s royal blessings and secure traditional support for the initiative, acknowledging the crucial role of community leaders in advancing educational empowerment.
The Oba warmly welcomed the team, commending NELFUND’s efforts and pledging his support for initiatives that drive educational development in Edo State.
