About the Florence Bamidele Makanjuola Scholarship
The Florence Bamidele Makanjuola Scholarship is a project of the Opekete Foundation, established in honor of Late Mrs. Florence Bamidele Makanjuola, a devoted teacher and nurse. Her passion for empowering women and her dedication to improving the quality of education and healthcare inspired this initiative.
Through this scholarship, her family continues her legacy by supporting aspiring female educators and healthcare professionals, particularly those pursuing STEM or Nursing courses in public institutions.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the 2025 FBM Scholarship, applicants must:
Be a female Nigerian citizen.
Be currently enrolled in or admitted to a public senior secondary school or public university in Nigeria.
Be studying or intending to study Teaching, STEM, or Nursing courses.
Academic Requirements
For Secondary School Applicants:
Minimum of 5 distinctions (A or B) in English, Mathematics, and any other 3 core subjects in Junior WAEC (BECE).
For University Applicants:
Minimum of 5 distinctions (A1–B3) in WAEC/NECO in one sitting, including English, Mathematics, and 3 relevant subjects.
Must have met the required JAMB cut-off mark for the course and university of choice.
Scholarship Benefits
Secondary School Students: Up to ₦350,000 per year
University Students: Up to ₦650,000 per year
This funding can be used to cover tuition, learning materials, and other academic expenses.
