The Africa Agri-Food Development Programme (AADP) is now accepting applications for its 2025/2026 cycle. This flagship initiative of the Irish Government supports innovative, sustainable partnerships between Irish and African agri-food businesses to enhance food systems and drive mutual trade.
AADP is designed to enable private sector collaboration that contributes to food security, economic growth, and sustainable agriculture in Sub-Saharan Africa.

🏢 Who Can Apply?
Any agri-food business registered for at least 24 months in Ireland or an eligible African country, including:
Micro enterprises and SMEs
Sole proprietors and partnerships
Cooperatives and farming groups
Social enterprises and commercial farming networks
📌 Proposal Requirements
All submitted projects must:
Be commercially driven
Operate within at least one of the 19 eligible African countries
Align with Ireland’s international development goals, the SDGs, and local food system priorities
Clearly show why public funds are needed (e.g., to unlock other financing)
Demonstrate the applicants’ capacity and governance to execute the project
Promote shared expertise between Ireland and Africa
Foster trade and collaboration between both regions
