The University of Lagos has opened applications for its 2026/2027 postgraduate admissions, offering a wide range of programmes for graduates looking to advance their studies.
Through its School of Postgraduate Studies, the university is inviting qualified candidates into Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master’s degrees (LL.M, M.A., M.Ed., M.Sc., etc.), Professional Master’s programmes (including MBA, EMBA, MPH, MPA, and others), as well as M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes.
For M.Phil./Ph.D. applicants, candidates are required to contact relevant departments to confirm the availability of supervisors before applying.
The programmes come with flexible study options, including full-time, part-time, executive, and Open Distance Learning (ODL), depending on the course.
Application Timeline
Application forms go on sale from Tuesday, April 7, 2026, and close on Friday, July 24, 2026. All completed applications must be submitted online not later than Friday, July 31, 2026.
How to Apply
Applicants are to visit the School of Postgraduate Studies portal: https://spgs.unilag.edu.ng and click on the “APPLY” link.
Candidates are advised to first confirm the availability and eligibility requirements of their desired programme before proceeding.
To begin, applicants must complete a pre-application form to generate a Payment Reference Number, then pay a non-refundable fee of ₦40,000 either through Remita at any commercial bank or online using a debit card.
After payment, applicants should return to the portal, continue their application using the Payment Reference Number, and complete the form.
A digital passport photograph (JPEG format, not more than 15KB, white background, 275×314 pixels) must be uploaded. Applications should only be submitted after careful review, as editing after submission attracts a ₦2,500 charge.
Important Notes for Applicants
Candidates must ensure they meet all programme requirements before applying.
Applicants awaiting Bachelor’s degree results, currently enrolled in another postgraduate programme, or Nigerian citizens who have not completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) are not eligible.
Degrees obtained from outreach or satellite campuses are also not accepted.All applicants must upload required credentials, including degree certificates (not statements of results), NYSC certificate, O’Level results, birth certificate or affidavit, NIN, and any relevant professional certificates.
Applicants who studied abroad must additionally upload a letter of evaluation from the Federal Ministry of Education, visa/residence documents, admission letter, and official transcript.
Academic transcripts must be sent directly to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies via post or email (adminsecspgs@unilag.edu.ng) before the screening process begins.
