The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed a total of ₦394,861,000 to support 6,663 students of Northwest University Kano for the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to the disbursement announcement released on April 17, 2026, the payment covers tuition-related and statutory charges for eligible student applicants of the institution.
The intervention is expected to ease financial burdens on beneficiaries and ensure continuity in their academic pursuits without interruption.
NELFUND stated that the disbursement forms part of the Federal Government’s renewed commitment to expanding access to higher education and reducing the financial challenges faced by students across tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
“With this payment, over six thousand students can sustain their studies with renewed hope and without financial interruption to their respective courses of study,” the statement noted.
The student loan scheme, introduced by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was designed to provide financial assistance to students in Nigerian tertiary institutions through interest-free education loans.
Since the commencement of the scheme, several universities across the country have continued to receive disbursements on behalf of verified student beneficiaries.
