The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed ₦1,360,920,800 to Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI) for the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to the disbursement record, the payment, made on May 18, 2026, will cover the 100 per cent statutory charges of 5,396 verified student beneficiaries of the institution.
The intervention is expected to ease the financial burden on thousands of students, enabling them to continue their academic programmes without interruption due to tuition-related challenges.
NELFUND was established by the Federal Government to provide interest-free education loans to eligible Nigerian students enrolled in approved tertiary institutions across the country. The scheme covers institutional charges and provides upkeep support for qualified applicants.
The latest disbursement to BOUESTI forms part of the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to expand access to higher education and ensure that financial constraints do not prevent students from completing their studies.
