The new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Segun Aina, has resolved about 5,000 pending complaints within his first five days in office as part of efforts to improve service delivery to candidates and other stakeholders.
According to a statement by JAMB’s Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the Registrar immediately strengthened the Board’s Service Compact with All Nigerians (SERVICOM) Unit and relocated his office there to gain first-hand insight into complaints and ensure faster resolution.
The resolved cases covered a wide range of issues, including profile code generation, biometric verification challenges, payment problems, e-PIN issues, document uploads, change of name and date of birth requests, and corrections to state and local government details.
JAMB also addressed challenges relating to the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), including cases involving candidates who lost access to their registered phone numbers or SIM cards, Direct Entry candidates who converted to UTME, and graduates omitted from the National Matriculation List.
Professor Aina said the reforms align with his commitment to delivering efficient, transparent and responsive services, with “Service at Heart” identified as one of the five pillars of his administration.
