OPay has expanded its scholarship programme, valued at ₦1.2 billion, to cover 41 tertiary institutions across Nigeria, in a move aimed at supporting students and reducing the financial burden of higher education.
The expansion was announced as part of the company’s continued investment in education and youth development.
The scholarship initiative is expected to provide financial support to eligible students across participating universities and other tertiary institutions.
The programme comes amid growing concerns over the rising cost of tertiary education in Nigeria, including tuition-related expenses, accommodation, learning materials and other costs associated with students’ academic journeys.
OPay’s expanded scholarship scheme is expected to give more Nigerian students access to financial assistance while enabling beneficiaries to concentrate on their studies.
