Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has distributed laptop computers and other smart devices to selected secondary schools in Kogi State as part of activities marking her third anniversary in the 10th National Assembly.
The senator, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District, carried out the intervention on Monday, November 2, 2026, during visits to four schools aimed at improving digital learning and expanding students’ access to educational resources.
According to a statement issued by her media aide, Mike Idoko, on Tuesday, the beneficiary schools include OCSS Oboroke, Adavi Model Secondary School, Adavi Eba, and Community Secondary School, Obangede.
Speaking during the presentation, Akpoti-Uduaghan said the initiative reflected her commitment to quality representation, educational development and youth empowerment.
She described education as a critical investment in society’s future, noting that access to digital devices could create opportunities for learning, innovation and personal development.
The lawmaker urged students to make effective use of the computers, embrace digital literacy and remain dedicated to their academic pursuits. She also called on teachers and school administrators to ensure the proper maintenance of the equipment and its use for educational purposes.
Akpoti-Uduaghan said her constituency development agenda extended beyond education to include healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, youth empowerment and economic development.
In the health sector, she has advocated the establishment of the Federal Medical Centre, Ihima, through Senate Bill 521, which seeks to improve access to specialist medical services in Kogi Central and neighbouring communities.
Other constituency interventions highlighted by the senator include advocacy for improved road networks, potable water, better school facilities, solar-powered infrastructure, skills acquisition programmes and support for women and young people.
At Community Secondary School, Obangede, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Dr Shehu Sule, commended the senator for extending the digital learning intervention to the institution.
Sule praised her contributions to education and human capital development, describing the initiative as an opportunity to expose students to wider educational resources and emerging technological opportunities.
He also called for sustained collaboration between the senator and the school, while acknowledging her influence in inspiring young people, particularly girls, to pursue leadership and educational ambitions.
The distribution comes amid growing emphasis on digital literacy and technology-driven learning in schools, with access to computers and other digital resources increasingly important for preparing students for higher education and the modern workforce.
Akpoti-Uduaghan reaffirmed her commitment to pursuing constituency projects and people-oriented initiatives aimed at improving the social and economic well-being of residents of Kogi Central.
