If you were offered admission between 2021 and 2025 and have not accepted or rejected it on JAMB’s Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), you have been given another opportunity to take action.
JAMB has extended the deadline for affected candidates to November 30, 2026, but the extension comes with an important warning: candidates who do nothing before the deadline could lose the admission status attached to those offers.
Here are six things you should know:
1. The extension only affects candidates with outstanding admission offers
This is for candidates who were offered admission between 2021 and 2025 but have not clicked either “Accept” or “Reject” on CAPS.
If you have already accepted or rejected your offer, the announcement does not affect you.
2. November 30 is the new deadline
JAMB had earlier fixed September 30, 2026, as the deadline after extending an earlier August 31 deadline.
The board has now shifted the date again, giving affected candidates until November 30, 2026, to make a decision.
3. Doing nothing could cost you the admission
One of the most important parts of the announcement is JAMB’s warning to candidates who choose to ignore their outstanding offers.
According to the board, any admission offer that remains neither accepted nor rejected after November 30 will automatically revert to “Not Admitted” on its records.
4. Accepting an offer allows you to process your admission documents
Candidates who decide to accept their admission offers can proceed to print and obtain their JAMB admission letters and complete other admission-related processes where necessary.
For many students, this is the official step that confirms their admission status on JAMB’s platform.
5. Rejecting an old offer will not affect some newer admissions
JAMB previously explained that candidates who have already secured admission through another institution or programme can reject older outstanding offers where necessary.
The board also clarified that candidates admitted during the 2026 admission exercise can reject previous pending offers without affecting their current 2026 admission.
6. Future corrections may attract extra charges
JAMB says candidates who allow their outstanding offers to revert to “Not Admitted” after the deadline may face additional costs later.
According to the board, any request to update such admissions after the deadline will attract the applicable penalty fee.
If you have an admission offer from 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 or 2025 still pending on CAPS, now is the time to check your account.
Whether you intend to accept it or reject it, JAMB says you should take action before November 30, 2026, because any outstanding offer left unattended after that date will automatically revert to “Not Admitted.”
