Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced its 2024 AI & Machine Learning (ML) Scholarship Program, aimed at providing opportunities to students who are underserved or underrepresented in the tech industry.
In collaboration with Udacity, the program offers 2,500 fully funded nanodegree scholarships annually, as well as mentorship support to help students develop the skills necessary for a career in AI and ML.
Benefits:
The AWS AI & ML Scholarship Program offers full tuition for Udacity’s Nanodegree program, providing students with essential skills in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Participants will not only gain valuable AI knowledge but also receive coaching and mentorship from industry professionals. The program is designed for individuals with no prior technical background, offering an accessible pathway into the growing field of machine learning through the innovative use of AWS DeepRacer, a hands-on, racing-themed learning tool.
Eligibility :
To be eligible for the AWS AI & ML Scholarship, applicants must be over the age of 16, self-identify as underserved or underrepresented in technology, and be currently enrolled in either high school or college. Importantly, no prior experience in machine learning, computer science, or racing is required. The program is designed to welcome beginners, helping anyone with an interest in technology to start their journey into AI and ML through engaging, real-world applications.
Application process:
The application process includes a unique learning experience using AWS DeepRacer Student, a free platform that teaches students about reinforcement learning through virtual racing. By completing these prerequisites, students will demonstrate their knowledge of machine learning concepts, and their progress will be used to prequalify them for the scholarship. The AWS DeepRacer Student League also offers a competitive element, allowing participants to hone their skills while competing in a global student league.
