The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed a total of ₦9,543,950 to the Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, for the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to the institution, the payment, made on May 6, 2026, covers the statutory charges of 162 students who benefited from the federal government’s student loan scheme.
The disbursement is expected to ease the financial burden on the beneficiaries and enable them to continue their academic pursuits without interruption.
NELFUND’s intervention forms part of the Federal Government’s efforts to expand access to higher education and ensure that financial constraints do not prevent qualified students from completing their studies under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The latest payment adds to the growing number of institutions and students benefiting from the student loan programme across the country.
