The Pastor Abraham Olaluwoye Foundation, through its PAO Education Foundation, has launched a three-year scholarship programme aimed at children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The initiative, introduced in collaboration with Abraham Seeds International School, is designed to provide full educational support for pupils and students from Basic 1 to Senior Secondary School 3.
The scholarship, which covers tuition, books, and examination fees, seeks to improve access to quality education for children who might otherwise be unable to afford it.
According to the organisers, the programme aligns with national educational standards and prepares recipients for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC), and the National Examination Council (NECO) exams.
Speaking at the launch, representatives of the Foundation said the scholarship would be awarded in phases across key educational stages—Basic, Junior Secondary, and Senior Secondary. “This is not just charity; it is a deliberate effort to reduce the number of out-of-school children and improve literacy in vulnerable communities,” one of the coordinators said.
The Foundation is currently seeking partnerships with religious institutions, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), corporate bodies, and individuals willing to support the initiative. Contributions may come in the form of financial donations, learning materials, school supplies, mentorship, and community outreach.
The sponsorship model is structured in tiers, ranging from ₦100,000 (Bronze) to ₦10 million (Platinum). Donors are promised recognition, regular impact reports, and additional incentives such as tax relief, depending on the level of support.
Interested organisations and individuals have been encouraged to assist in identifying eligible beneficiaries and to help raise awareness in underserved areas.
The Foundation operates from two offices in the Onipanu area of Lagos and has released contact numbers for enquiries and contributions.
With the launch of this scholarship scheme, the Foundation joins a growing number of private initiatives stepping in to support education in Nigeria amid rising school costs and persistent inequalities in access.
