SchoolRegistry, Nigeria’s free school directory, has opened 2,000 free scholarship places on SchoolRegistry Academy, worth more than ₦373 million at regular course prices.
The scholarships are open to secondary school leavers, students, job seekers and teachers across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The programme offers two categories of scholarships: 1,000 digital skills scholarships and 1,000 career track scholarships.
The 1,000 digital skills scholarships, each valued at ₦113,000, cover self-paced courses in Computer Basics, Microsoft Excel (four levels), Word (two levels), PowerPoint and practical artificial intelligence (AI) tools (three levels).
Another 1,000 scholarships cover ten entry-level career tracks, with each place valued at between ₦260,000 and ₦325,000. The tracks include Virtual Assistant, Virtual Medical Administrative Support, Home Care and Caregiving, Customer Service and Call Center, Social Media Management, Lead Generation and Appointment Setting, Tier-1 IT and Technical Support, Virtual Bookkeeping, Recruiting and HR Coordinator, and Truck and Freight Dispatcher.
Career track scholars will learn at their own pace, receive online coach feedback and have 12 months of access to their courses.
All scholars will also receive free JAMB and WASSCE practice questions and mock examinations. Each course comes with a certificate upon completion.
SchoolRegistry said the scholarship programme is completely free, with no charges for training, course materials, practice examinations or certificates.
How to Apply
Interested applicants can apply free of charge through the official “SchoolRegistry Academy Scholarship Portal” (https://schoolregistry.ng/academy/scholarships).
Applicants should select either the short courses option or one career track, depending on their preferred training, and complete the application form. The process takes approximately two minutes, and the form lists all states in Nigeria.
Successful applicants will receive access in batches beginning Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
Northern Nigeria is a priority for the programme, with places available to students, school leavers, job seekers and teachers in every northern state and the FCT. Applicants in states including Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina and Bauchi can participate remotely using a phone or computer.
Schools, including those in northern Nigeria, can also nominate their students and teachers for the scholarships. Applicants aged 15 to 17 must apply with the consent of a parent or guardian.
Speaking on the initiative, SchoolRegistry founder Ayoola Jegede said the programme was designed to help young Nigerians acquire practical skills while waiting for their next educational or career opportunities.
“Thousands of young Nigerians spend the months after secondary school, or after graduation, waiting for the next step,” Jegede said. “Those months can build skills that matter at work. Someone who can use Excel, run a customer service queue or manage a business’s social media starts ahead. We want 2,000 young people and teachers to have that head start this year, at no cost.”
Scholars are expected to complete their first course or module within six weeks, share their certificate and submit a short review. Those who meet these requirements will retain their full free access, allowing the scholarship places to continue serving participants who use them.
SchoolRegistry is Nigeria’s free school directory, helping parents find and compare schools across all 36 states and the FCT. Its tools include a school fees calculator and a JAMB score calculator.
The organisation also operates SchoolRegistry Academy, which offers online short courses and career tracks.
