Educational excursions give secondary school students an opportunity to learn outside the classroom. By visiting museums, historical sites, nature reserves, science centres and cultural attractions, students can connect what they learn in school with real-life experiences.

Conclusion
School excursions can make learning more practical by allowing students to see and experience concepts they have studied in subjects such as History, Geography, Biology, Government, Civic Education, Cultural and Creative Arts and Basic Science.
Schools should, however, choose excursion destinations according to students’ ages, curriculum objectives, safety requirements, accessibility and the educational value of the visit. A well-planned excursion should go beyond sightseeing and include activities that encourage students to observe, ask questions and connect the experience with what they learn in the classroom.
