Vice President Kashim Shettima is celebrating his 60th birthday, with President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu joining his family, friends and political associates to mark the milestone.

1. He Began His Career in Banking
Before venturing fully into politics and public service, Shettima built a career in the banking sector. His professional experience in banking later became part of the foundation for his involvement in governance and public administration.
2. He Served as Governor of Borno State
Shettima served as Governor of Borno State, where he played a major role in the administration of one of Nigeria’s most challenging states, particularly during a period marked by serious security concerns.
President Tinubu praised his courage, diligence and commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians during his years in public service.
3. He Also Served in the Senate
Before becoming Vice President, Shettima also represented Borno Central in the Nigerian Senate, adding legislative experience to his political and public service career.
4. He Now Serves as Nigeria’s Vice President
Shettima currently serves as Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and has been a key member of the Tinubu administration.
